Nicole Michelle is the vocal prodigy we’ve all been waiting for with a handful of music industry bona fides already saying she’s in line to be one of the next superstars of the contemporary pop genre. At 15 years of age she's currently working on her first full-length record titled Generation N, produced by Jeff Timmons of the multi-platinum vocal group 98 Degrees along with instrumentation by two-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist and producer, Paul Nelson for the late Johnny Winter.
Nicole was already honing her craft at the age of 9, establishing herself as an authentic singer of considerable promise, prowess and purpose when she first began singing the National Anthem “around the house” at her home in Pelham, New Hampshire.
In the summer of 2014, when she was 11 years old, Nicole sang to an audience for the first time after winning a local contest to perform at a New England Revolution soccer game; New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft was so impressed with her performance he invited her to sing the National Anthem for the Patriots in the fall of that same year. Subsequently, she was asked to perform the Anthem again for the Boston Celtics at Boston’s TD Garden, and sang for the Celtics several times that season.
Nicole began her career as a professional singer in 2015 at the age of 12 when she headlined a New Year’s concert in Lynnfield, Massachusetts; Shortly thereafter she was taken under the wing of a small management company, brought into the studio to record several singles that were never released and continued to play anywhere she could throughout 2015.
In early 2016 ABC’s Chronicle ran a featured story on Nicole's future singing career and how her star was on the rise. 2016 also brought a trip to Atlanta to work with singer/song writer Kalenna Harper of Sean “Diddy” Combs Bad Boy Label, who was also a supporting cast member on the VH1 hit reality series Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. Nicole's first single, Listen was produced by J. White and was released on itunes and her video was directed by J.R. Saint who’s resume includes directing Machine Gun Kelly, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.
2016 also saw Nicole featured in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Skope Magazine as well as performing at Medalists Come Home hosted by Nancy Kerrigan. She also opened for Bell Biv Devoe, who branched off the 80’s super-group, New Edition.
In early 2017 Nicole started gaining some real traction when she was featured in the Huffington Post and opened for Vine star Jeffrey Miller, former American idol finalist and Nashville recording artist Ayla Brown and multi-Grammy award winner guitarist and producer, Paul Nelson of the late Johnny Winter. She performed at the Kidz Expo featuring Disney star Peyton List.
The highlight of the year came in August when she was asked to perform at the 2017 Hope Music Festival at the Cape Cod Melody Tent and she shared the stage with musical icons from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s through current day including artists such as Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad, Elliot Easton of The Cars, Barry Goudreau formerly of the band Boston, Rick Derringer, The Uptown Horns (the brass behind The Rolling Stones), blues legend James Montgomery and many more.
Imagine what it would be like if you were able to go back in time and watch the careers of Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson evolve from the age of 15 – then flourish, prosper and thrive to become cultural icons.
Nicole Michelle is a singing prodigy and boasts a “triple threat” – she can sing, dance and act and is on a fast track to monstrous success with an ability to crossover into so many other genres. Paramount to her incredible achievements as a young teenager it’s her pure love of singing and pleasing an audience that makes Nicole who she is.
On the epitaph of one of the greatest singers of the 20th century it reads – Lover of Life, Singer of Songs. This would best describe Nicole Michelle.
